The Quest: Rise of Emodo Development

As everybody knows, since the suspension of Complete Earth LLCs project The Quest: Rise Of Emodo from Kickstarter, the Development Counsel have decided to leave all crowd funding sites behind and sell some Early Bird bonuses at www.riseofemodo.net.

If you are a new Me2everyone member and you haven't heard about our exclusive game, pop over to the website and you will find what the game Rise of Emodo is about, the Emodo Team, news and the Emodo Store.

You can also help our project development by sharing it with your friends or by buying an exclusive Reward Pack that will enhance your game towards winning the grand prize of $100,000.

As it is stated at the Emodo Store, “all Reward Packs also give you access to our Interactive Developers Area where you can help shape the game!”

For those of use that are already on the Development  Team  we have setup an Interactive Developers Area and have over 50 members and counting. Those involved in the development of the game can provide much needed feedback on images which are being created and shared. Ideas to improve those images will be welcomed and questions can be asked.

If you have backed Rise of Emodo, you will soon receive an invitation by email to join the Developers Area.

Kickstarter credibility

Just before Kickstater suspended our project The Quest: Rise of Emodo, we doubted already of how their algorithms works, if they have one. If you take a close look on some projects, it just doesn't make any sense how some projects have better ratings then others and how some become popular and others don't. It seems someone is picking which projects deserves to be successful to be funded or not.
Our project was suspended 15h03m before its end, it was going well for 41 days until kickstarter took the decision to suspend our project. Kickstarter credibility is low.

We have discovered that Kickstarter broke their own rules on Wednesday by charging a card BEFORE the campaign was fully funded. That's two days before the campaign was suppose to end!

They're policy of no comments on suspended projects is like a dictatorship. In a democracy, people have a right to know what went wrong with they're projects. Where is your credibility Kickstarter?

Maybe nothing is wrong and Kickstarter is just using some project creators, using they're suspensions as a marketing kit saying, *your project is suspended because we care*. Well not every project is a scam, eventually all projects are reviewed before they go live.
If a project is suspended, then is Kickstarter Staff fault for not doing well their job and letting a project going live and then after near the end, eventually with no known reason its dictator simply says suspend it.
Marketing a project takes time and effort by the project creators, and this is a free marketing for Kickstarter.

The Free Game with a $100,000 Secret...

A new online adventure game with a $100,000 Secret...created by YOU.

Make alliances, trade with friends, wreak havoc and unlock 10,000 years of secrets.

Walking through the desert you find an ancient book: a gateway to another world – the world of Emodo. Here you meet the Questorian who welcomes you to the first kingdom of Merchantopia. You arrive with nothing but your deep sense of curiosity and the only instruction the Questorian gives you is to find the answers to unlock the orb which floats mysteriously on the desk. The orb is an artefact known as the Vault and once opened it promises to transform your life: not your life in the game, but your real life out here in the real world.
This is when the adventure begins, solving puzzles for rewards. For instance, there are 20 Books of Merchantopia to discover and each of these gives you a special reward and much deeper knowledge of the world of Emodo: knowledge to help you on your Quest. Beyond this there’s the kingdom of Merchantopia and here you will discover the local currency of the Qetoo and how you can earn more from solving puzzles and entering into trades. You also learn that Qetoos are needed to progress in the game. Eventually you will find the Guilds which can either improve your experience of the game or cause you a few problems – especially if you attract the attention of the Guild of Thieves.
Within Merchantopia you will make alliances with people from across the planet, enter into trades and use your Quest Shapers. These are special powers within the game that can be used to magnify your result or create havoc for you or other players.
However it’s the puzzle solving experiences which bring you here and it’s a race against time to solve these puzzles as you aim to become the first person to open the Vault and claim the wonderful prize within. Along the way there will be plenty of mini-games where you can win more Qetoos, Quest Shapers or perhaps real-life prizes. I guess that depends upon how successful we become.
There will be rewards for bringing your friends to Merchantopia. There will be rewards for creating puzzles. This is a game that is both free to play and organic in that it will continue to grow as more people become involved. Our players will tell us what they want and (within reason) we will create it. What’s really cool for our fans on Kickstarter is that we will immortalize you within the game; even if you can only spare a dollar! It’s our reward beyond all others that the people who help launch this game get to be embedded into the game. Now isn’t that a pretty cool idea?

Game designers and artists need to eat so creating a game is always going to cost money. So we decided to make our own fund raising on our web info-site www.riseofemodo.net. We want your energy and enthusiasm too. You can share your ideas for the world of Emodo and help us to achieve more. You can become directly involved in the creative process too. And when the day comes that The Quest is launched to the world: well we’re sure you will be dragging your friends and family into the world of Merchantopia and earning all those lovely bonuses.

We knocked on many doors and asked artists and game designers from across the world to please get involved and help us. At first, conversations tended to work like this:
“Are you from Pixar or Lucasfilm?”
“No.”
“Bye.”
Eventually we started to find some people who were as excited by the concept of The Quest as much as we were and right now Steve Beaumont is handling the first sequence storyboard. Steve has worked on several games including Tomb Raider - Angel of Darkness, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, and The Suffering as well as developing storyboards for BBC, Emap Publishing, Johnny Walker, Universal Studios, Unilever and Warner Bros.

We are also mega excited to be working with Jason Godbey an environmental artist from California who worked on the legendary God of War – Ghost of Sparta which redefined PSP games. Jason also worked on NBA2K8 (Xbox360).

Next up from Colorado is Ryan Knope – the Art Director of Lacuna Expanse and we are really pleased to have him on board as we have an entire world to be designed and that’s going to take some time. The opening sequences and cut scenes will more than likely be completed by Lifang-cg. Originally from China, they’ve expanded and have offices in Vancouver.

Original music for the Quest will be composed by Vlado Hudec who really understands the concept of Epic. Whether it's guitars or full orchestras with choirs, he creates masterpieces of energetic or calming music. Finally (for now) we have Jon Mohr handling voiceovers. You hear Jon on the first part of our video. Jon has that distinctive voice that almost everyone has heard somewhere before.

Energy and Passion

We need your Energy and Passion to complete our team!

The complete story of Emodo spans 18 chapters and that's going to take several years and several million dollars to complete. We want to launch the first chapter - Rise of Emodo - this year and so we divided the game into two phases.
Phase 1 can be completed by fund raising on our web site www.riseofemodo.net  giving you access to a vibrant (but flat) world. Expect some wonderful artwork, an awesome User Interface (UI) and an incredible player experience - but expect it to be pretty flat.
We know that for $36,000 we can complete the work we've started and deliver to you an incredible games concept. Deep down though, we want to go further. We want to breathe life into an awesome, interactive virtual world designed in the stunning Unity 3D and if you help us achieve $300,000+ we can begin to deliver that experience in 2014.
What's Beyond This?
We already want to create Chapter 2 and discover the new adventures when the Emodons finally reach the moon Vyo and make a shattering discovery. We want to explore the Shadow D'harblus some more. He's lived for 32,000 years: a weapon created in the Age of Wars who still has some grudges. We also want to write the books that our fans keep asking for. Together with our awesome fund raising friends we can achieve this and a whole lot more!

Who is on our TEAM?

Who is on our Development TEAM?

I will start with our last arrival, he just confirmed today his presence in our TEAM development.

Alex Ruiz whose work has been a constant inspiration to everyone on the project. Alex has previously worked on Avatar, Aliens, Eragon, Halo 3, Family Guy and the Simpsons.
Andrea Pua -The concept Art comes from the imagination of a student of the legendary Feng Zhu.
We also have the wonderful Tad Davis about to create the planet of Kera and its 4 moons (including Emodo). In June, Tad will be joined by Jonathan Roberts who has worked on the 'Game of Thrones' maps.
Jason Godbey (God of War: Ghosts of Sparta) will be working on aspects of the virtual world version of Rise of Emodo.
Music will be exclusively produced by Vlado Hudec and voice from the legendary Jon Mohr.
Lili Wexu who will become the voice of the Questorian. Lili has worked on a couple of Assassins Creed games.
Naomi Mercer (Mass Effect 2) and here we're kinda thinking a role in the Elkom.
Finally (for now) we want to thank David J Peterson for his help in the starting phases of the Emodon and Architect languages. David has previously worked on Game of Thrones and Defiance.
Donna and Stu Jennet from Alien And Apple Studios have spent nearly two decades each working on AAA games in senior positions for some of the largest studios on Earth, including Rage and THQ Digital UK.

After you see all these names from famous people connected to the games and movie industry we expect to have more followers.
